The Play Experience

Topgolf’s games play out across multiple screens in the bay, but the game state was not always driven from a single source of truth. Different titles relied on different systems for gameplay decisions, scoring, and shot outcomes, while players had to look to different screens depending on the game.

A shared framework helped centralize game state into a single source of truth, allowing the bay screens to present the experience more consistently instead of each title structuring that experience in its own way.

That made the games easier for players to follow and easier for teams to build. Shared behavior reduced one-off implementations, gave new titles a stronger starting point, and made it easier to carry improvements across the portfolio.
